Overview
Tribaja is a career development platform that connects diverse professionals with inclusive companies in the tech industry. I was tasked with redesigning the website and dashboard experience to improve usability, visual appeal, and engagement, while also introducing new features to support community growth and employer partnerships.
Problem
Tribaja’s previous site was functional but lacked visual polish, clear navigation, and deeper engagement features. Users found it difficult to browse opportunities, manage profiles, and connect with companies. Employers also needed a better way to post jobs and manage applicants.
The goal was to redesign the experience to:
- Improve user and employer onboarding
- Create a stronger visual identity
- Add new features like events, memberships, and job tracking
- Boost conversion rates across key actions (signups, job applications)
My Role
- UI/UX Designer
- Worked closely with the founder, developers, and marketing team
- Redesigned the public website, user dashboard, and employer dashboard
- Created user flows for new features (events, memberships, job tracking)
Process
Research & Analysis
We evaluated competitor platforms like Techqueria, Jopwell, and LinkedIn to identify gaps and opportunities. User interviews and feedback highlighted issues around navigation, slow onboarding, and lack of personalization.
UX Strategy
Key UX goals included:
- Clear and modern homepage structure
- Simpler signup and onboarding flows
- Personalized dashboards for both job seekers and employers
- Improved browsing and job discovery
Visual Design
- Developed a clean, vibrant look that felt both tech-forward and community-driven
- Designed consistent, flexible UI components (cards, tabs, filters, dashboards)
- Incorporated more inclusive imagery and approachable copy
New Feature Additions
- Events Hub: Users can discover, RSVP, and attend networking and career events
- Membership System: Special content and early access to job listings for members
- Job Application Tracker: Allows users to monitor the status of their job applications
- Employer Insights Dashboard: Analytics for companies to track post performance and candidate engagement
Final Design
Key screens delivered:
- Homepage with clear calls-to-action
- User sign-up and onboarding flow
- Job browsing and filtering experience
- Candidate dashboard (with application tracker)
- Employer dashboard (job posting, applicant management, insights)
- Events page and RSVP functionality
- Membership purchase and profile enhancement flow
Outcomes
- Improved navigation and homepage clarity
- Higher engagement on jobs and events pages
- Increased employer interest due to better posting and applicant tracking tools
- Stronger brand identity with visuals that matched Tribaja’s community mission
Learnings
- Designing for two user types (job seekers and employers) requires balancing different goals in one ecosystem
- Small UX improvements in onboarding have a major impact on conversion
- Community-first platforms benefit from emotional design choices, not just functional ones
